The Chassidic Masters explain: Noach was instructed to board his boat and board it up,rejecting everything that threatened his values. This is what we do all of our lives; we close the door and study; we close the door and pray; we close the door and shut out what does not belong inside our inner inner sanctum.
Then, Noach was instructed to leave the Ark. Not only that he may now stop hiding from the world, but that he must now run into it... him, his wife and his two sons with them; bring out the animals two-by-two and seven-by-seven; let them roam and run free and spread the news of an ark that saves.
