Ribono Shel Olam • Moshe Schulhof
Pierre Pinchik, composer

A bit rushed, but certainly smooth and pleasant. Hits all the Pinchikities but with a little less precision.

V'Shomru (Carlebach) • Yehuda Solomon

But I do have good news...

Shabbos is coming, and we will sense the Beis Hamikdash in our hearts, so we will want the Beis Hamikdosh in our minds, so we will build the Beis Hamikdosh with our hands and see it with our own eyes and dance inside it, listen to its music and praise Hashem, Hallelu-y-a! Now!

Have a joyous and meaningful Shabbos, easy and fast. If you must.

Vehoyu Limshisa • THE Chevra

"THE preeminent Jewish boy band today!"
— Ber Boimel, Spotlight on Music

Someone once told me that R' Shlomo Carlebach once noted to or about Avraham Fried "I don't mind if people copy my songs. I just mind if they ruin them." Or something.

I think it was about this song. **Now more ruined than ever!**

Ach, these 9 Days. Are you happy now, Roman conquerors? ARE YOU HAPPY NOW???

Yedid Nefesh • Itsi Kleinfeld/Tzvi Silberstein

The good thing about this song is that it is so exceptional that even a not very good acapella version is still technically pretty awesome. Cuz the song is, see.

Itsi Kleinfeld was born in [Judenstrasse Shpitol] Antwerp, Belgium, [at 7:11 and 22 seconds] on October 7th, 1979. See more. I dare you.

Shades of Acapella • Yossi Green - Shades of Green

This track was naturally selected by the 9 Days themselves, which have proved surprisingly resilient in rejecting any *NSYNC, Bon Jovi or Mariah Perry in Jewish drag, a.k.a., AKA Pella. Grrrr.

And then there is the beauty of the two songs selected for acapella treatment: 1) Min Hameitzar composed for Shlomo Simcha, and 2) Ki Chilatzta, which I had not heard before and do not know from outside of this track. Do You?

Matisyahu's Interview with Aish

[bad joke was here. deleted]

Aaaaaanyway, I found BloginDM yesterday after Googling "Yud Beis Tammuz Niggun". Our blog come up right up top, after Chabad.org. Inadvertent SEO. So, BloginDM came up as well, having graciously linked to us here! And BloginDM also linked to this interview. And the interview links to FOUR new Matisyahu tracks. And now they are yours.

Actually, I have been to BloginDM in the past, but have never really spent the time to explore, see and enjoy. Kind of the way one can be at a Shabbos table together but only meet on that first date. But first dates are often memorable for all the wrong reasons and this was enjoyable.

"ONE" • Sarah Dukes

From Sarah Dukes, the composer:

This song is about one boy, a boy whom we all loved but never met. It is about the effect that this one, young, innocent child had on the entire world: he united a nation. He proved that we can work together as one, and showed us that we ARE one. He taught us that we can have pure, baseless love- even towards someone we have never met. He taught us the power of one: of one individual, of one people, of one heart.

His name was Leiby.

Let's continue to live Leiby's lesson. Let's be there to help one man, one woman, one child one soul. Let's have baseless love towards a complete stranger.

We can do it. Leiby showed us that we can.

National Day of Yud Beis Tammuz

Three renditions of the redemptive tune of 12 Tammuz. So, is 12 Tammuz redemptive in fact or was it redemptive in history? It is a question of how imprisoned we feel today by the forces mocking our Rebbes' activity; and how free we remember to be to drive on anyway.
