Flowering Jasmine - Gidon Kremer

Allow me to begin from the end: We were listening to the local classical station at 5or 6 AM when this piece came on. We scribbled the name that the DJ said, then Googled it as soon as we got to work. There we all found that we'd all found the same thing: That we'd heard this piece on the local classical station--mine is 105.9--in the very early morning, and felt compelled to Google it and share it.

Here I share "Flowering Jasmine" played on Vibrapahone. Perhaps "Ahh!" misses the feeling, so feel free to comment.

Today is Erev Rosh Chodesh July, which is in turn Erev Rosh Chodesh Alef d'Chodesh Tammuz. July is the month of my birth and other such things. Happy It :)

Happy, happy, It. :)

Hut Bitachon! - Lipa

Can I share something somewhat personal with y'all Froggers (friend-bloggers)? I believe David: הבוטח בה', חסד יסובבנהו. Crazy, eh? Eh!

Gut Fune Avrohom - Yehuda Exclamation Point

A prayer recited in many communities at the conclusion of Shabbos, after Havdala. It is a tremendously beuatiful "techina" with a lovely, lovely tune. Sung by Yehuda Exclamation Point which is something of a de riguer downer. I don't know what de riguer means but I believe I used it correctly. If you think I didn't, you probably thought I meant something else.

Because we rarely post after Shabbos and it's weird to post a Bye-Bye Shabbos Lichovos Shabbos, ya know how do I mean?

The Place Where We Belong - Rotenberg, Rotenberg & Tsfat

We heard this first as the Sefer Torah song on Journey's One. Then we heard it as Chasal Siddur Pesach on Lev V'Nefesh One and thought that Abie composed it for that and borrowed it for Journey's One. Then we met the Chezzard in Shul this morning who pointed us to Simply Tsfat An Old Jewish Melody. But, if we're all about the Journey anyway...anyway...

Tefillas Haderech - Lipa Shmeltzer

We can be on a trip without traveling,
or travel and get nowhere;
we can stay in place and call it "home"
and we can go far yet never arrive.

And that last one is a very great place to be.

ותשלח ברכה והצלחה בכל מעשה ידינו! Safe trip, all!

The Forgotten Princess - London School of Jewish Song

Good Shabbos! The beauty of how to enjoy it can perhaps be gleaned from how not to. This is that, but I'm still way into this song! Listen, I'm from Monsey...

Once posted here.

Omnom - Dedi

I haven't had the time or brain space to listen to this song and internalize what it is teaching me. But I remember liking it much as a tyke. Ha! Who wanna enroll their kids in my new Jewish org: KikeTykes

Reeee-mehhhm-berrrr Dehhhh-di,
Remem-ber Dudu,
They have such weird names,
That sound like Voodoo

Everyone receives 3 points for placing that song. Well done, team!

Heights - Matisyahu

Listen to that man Philophosize! We basically adore the opening petal-enhanced guitar riff. Unrelated, though nothing ever is, we are now a mobile blog for devices that don't stay in one place.

Hashem rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe! Or something.

Di Torah - Avraham Fried (Yom Tov Ehrlich)

S/he who has not heard Yiddish Gems has not heard a Yiddish gem in his or her life. -The Talmud

Dear Bloggers, Bloggees and Fellow Joyful Jews,

Let us accept the Torah with Simcha, and let's internalize what we receive. And let's be happy because we get it. And let's be happy, and therefore get it. and let's be happy.

Yesh HKB"H - Adi Ran

One of our favorite Adi Ran songs. B'etzem yesh !!RAK!! Hakoidish bu'chooo... To me, the vort is: A person must go through and experience many aspects of life, yes, even challenges, but not for pain and not forever: Just עד שהוא תופס ש--
יש הקודיש ב'כו
יש הקודיש ב'כו
בעצם יש רק הקודיש ב'כו!

Then the challenges ARE life. Then the victories are sweet. Then the next page is more interesting and the next stop more exciting and the surprises more pleasant and more surprising. Cuz בעצם יש רק הקודיש ב'כו! :)
