Moses - Aaron Razel
Moses: Head Jew, 2368-2488.
Additional relevant info: The words are from the Gemoro describing where Moshe isn't buried.
מפני מה נסתתר קברו של משה? Why was Moshe's burial-place hidden from human discovery? Because Hashem knew well that the Beis Hamikdash was to be destroyed and the Jewish people exiled from their land... Lest they pass by Moshe's grave at that terrible moment and stand with tears flowing, begging Moshe, praying, saying: Moshe Rabbeinu! Stand up in prayer for us! And Moshe would stand up and successfully eradicate the decree.
The הגהות הב"ח concludes: From here we see that a Tzaddik is more cherished (i.e., listened to by Hashem) after his passing than even during his life.
Shwekey.

Papa Can You Hear Me? - Barbra Streisand
With gratitude to Hashem, and a fresh round
of Al Cheit shechatanu lifonecha biYetzer Ho'roh,
For the sin of the heart's pull toward a female sound
I offer this epic cut of Kol Isha
I actually prefer Dudu's version in many ways, but nothing--nothing--comes near the rising voices and mind-blowing vibrato beginning at 1:10.

Kivakoras - Shlomo Carlebach
Known in cantorial circles as "The Irish Kivakoras." Just kidding, but it sounds a bit jiggy with that wind intro, no? I think I have another recording of him dueting it out with Neshoma. Beautiful.

V'haviosim - MBD - MBD & Friends
Late, perhaps, for the Selichos period. But isn't that what Teshuva is all about? Or is that Pesach Sheini...

B'Rosh Hashana - MBD - Efshar Letaken
To Everyone,
שלום וברכה!
May you enter the New Year with a light heart and a joyous spirit. May your prayers be meaningful and uplifting, and may they feel accepted and responded to by Avinu Shebashamayim. May all of the high points of your year passed be handily surpassed by the soaring highs in the year to come. And may the purpose be recognized.
Amen!

Malachei Rachamim - MBD
Shimshon and I spent the earlier part of this morning, the part normally reserved for saying Selichos, BBMing each other with various contenders in the Best Selichos Song category.
This one won. Go figure.
