Ant Hu D'Shalit • Yossele Rosenblatt

Watching the State of the Union the other night, I enjoyed the sense of importance lent by protocol of it all: "Mr. Speaker, I give you: The President of the United States."

Al Achas Kama v'kama, G-d.

Here Yossele seems to announce G-d's credentials and imminent participation. Following which the Chazzan says "Shema Yisroel Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad!"

Good Shabbos,

Thank you, Jeff George, for your quick and excellent guidance to Media.io, upon which this track was converted from wma. Thank you to all SSY commenters: your comments are always read and mostly appreciated and almost never responded to but sometimes discussed between the authors of this blog.

MONDAY UPDATE: In the comments, מטהר correctly noted that this Ant Hu was paired with new musical and choral arrangements and released by Aderet music as the relatively recent Od Yosef Chai (2). This is not a bad thing, in my opinion, but it is in מטהר's. You decide.

Hey guys, that was heaven. However, being a snob, I appeal to you not to please promote fractured, re-mixed music and play originals. The original of this is Gan Eden עוד כי לא יסופר. Thanks

I have to agree with the מטהר את השרץ fellow on this one.

I would love to get my hands on a copy of the remastered vocals and original choral accompaniment, w/o the added additions.

Thank you all for agreeing with me - Rosenblatt bestowed our world with beautiful music, and the winds of modernity want to steal it and dilute it, along with everything else that was good in the world.

I'm not sure that the original accompaniments were better than the new ones.

Clearly Ber has no sense or taste in the matter

Burn!

I'm sure you were being humorous, but seriously, what is so good about the original musical accompaniment or choral for that matter?

What's amazing about the original is Yossele. The rest is noise, literally. Now the noise is a little clearer and of a better quality.
The biggest loss, I think, is that in some of the cleaning of the original sound, some of the nuance in the original recording of the voice gets lost.

You burn, the musical arrangements were chosen by greats. Yossele knew what he was doing when he chose the organ accompaniment, not some yeshiva guy who can't stomach it no more.

I think you may have misunderstood what I meant by "Burn!"

Ok, maybe, lets be friends now.

Mendy Werdyger, who restored the Od Yosef Chai series largely by himself, is a baal menagen in his own right and hardly "some yeshiva guy who can't stomach it no more."
