Dear Nikolai • JEP • TTT

The terribility factor is all in the brain-puncturing chorus vocal. Shush-it, little one, Grandpa is sleeping.

This is such a beautiful song and it brings back such wonderful JEP memories.

I don't see any terribility factor.

The high part here should be the standard test for all choir wannabees.

What is TTT?

In Chabad, there's a saying: "What is Assur you are not allowed to do, and what is Muttar you are not required to do."

There is tremendous range on show in this song. But it is unnecessary and shrill to my ears. Terrible.

TTT = Terrible Tune Tuesday, a sometimes feature on ShirShelYom

Does not qualify for Terrible-Tune Tuesday. Actually, doesn't apply for Terrible-Tune anything. Excellent song, great tune, great vocal range, and really befitting for its time. Sorry.

How about some Yerushalayim Pirchei - Yigal Calek? I don't see him in the sidebar, Chaval. I would start with Mimkomcha. Matai...ai...ai...ai...ai...ai...

Whoever had the job of choosing the soloists for JEP did an awful job.
