Kanei L'Shimcha - Avraham Fried

From today's Selichos. Noted by OldBrisker for its particular relevance this week.

I don't know the exact translation, but in rough:
Avenge Your majestic, hallowed Name!
See how Your vineyards are destroyed and trampled,
Gather Your offspring and we'll sing a new song to You
Make them eternal, make them live, by rebuilding the Beis Hamikdosh

And as You acted so fiercely in those days,
Act wondrously to save and rebuild the world today,
Place comfort and condolences before You for our finding,
G-d, King, sitting on the Throne of Mercy
___________
Correction: The first line of the piyut previously said "נורא ונשגב" /majestic and mighty/ and has been changed to the more likely "נורא ונקדש" /majestic and hallowed.

  1. The first time I heard Helfgott sing Yossi Greens Kanei, I was unimpressed, but now, every time I open Shir Shel Yom and see this version, I can't help but start singing the other on to myself. My only explanation is that the song is good, but Helfgott really holds it back. Just imaging Ohad singing Yossi Green's Kanei. Now that's a good song!

If it's not worth taking credit for, it's probably not worth saying!
